Regarding the lighter leaking, the lid of the Cigarette Lighter acts as a butane valve. When the lid is open - butane will be released, and when the lid is closed - butane will stop being released. The lid should only be opened when the lighter is in use. As for the large flame, this is likely due to the flame being adjusted way too high. We sincerely apologize if it arrived like this. The lighter is modeled after a standard King Size cigarette, which is around 84mm long and 8mm in diameter. Some cigarette boxes (especially slims or compact packs) are slightly smaller inside, so that might be why the fit feels tight.
