Originally I was going to send the lighter back because it was not working for hours till my wife came up with a brilliant idea to hold a match over the where the flame should be coming out. Suddenly it came to life and it’s been fine since then. I’m not sure what the issue was at first cause I followed all the instructions and watched their set up video on YouTube before I did anything because I wanted to be sure it worked. But it’s working now.

I dropped my lighter and the emerald on one side shattered. Synthetic Emerald is a hardness of 8/10. Synthetic emerald should not shatter when being dropped onto asphalt since asphalt is not harder than emerald. Emerald is likely made from glass.

Swarovski's emeralds are made of their proprietary lead-free crystal glass that are highly refined and precisely cut and polished to imitate a real emerald. However, despite their hardness, they are still more brittle than natural or lab-grown emeralds. We understand how frustrating it can be to have the emerald shatter so soon after receiving your lighter. 10/10 definitely would recommend sure it is a bit of a pricy lighter but definitely worth it it’s heavy and feels sturdy the design is very smooth and elegant and over all just a great lighter it does make the sound when you open it the flint wheel ignition is smooth it’s super easy to take apart and put back together simply press down on the lever take out the slide put in a new flint and putting it back on is easy simply line it back up and just slide till you hear a click I will say the box did come with some chips and scratches but all that matters to me is the lighter works and it works amazing would recommend to anyone who loves collecting unique styled lighters

Overall experience was a bit rough in the beginning, when it came to receiving my lighters. A few mix ups on the delivery couriers part, but flamespade customer service was exceptional in making sure I received my lighters and made sure they work.
