The guard can be loosened by removing the fuel cap and sliding it off the lighter. Should make a bigger size cuz in my hand with the bottom of the lighter resting on my pinky its level with my pointer finger and it’d be nice if it was an inch above my pointer finger. Other then that i absolutely love the ww1 style

Lighter is nice but the wind guard get stuck and either wont go up or down without extra pressure

If you find it's getting stuck even while loosened, you may be squeezing the wind guard too hard against the body of the lighter, making it more difficult to move. Cool design, good hand feel, snappy action. Did take me awhile to get it to light correctly? Wondering if maybe it just needed more time for the wick to soak the fluid

There is the unadvertised word “Promise” inscribed on the side of the lighter they make sure not to show on the website.
Other than that unexpected discrepancy the lighter has great weight to it and works fine.

Look good, feels great. Not stiff like I expected. A bit hard to open up to change flints and the shroud is slightly misaligned but still a good item.

Always thought about getting a trench lighter ever since I found an old broken one in my Grandparents many years ago. This one does not disappoint. I was wary that it might leak fluid, but it has a good seal and it hasn't let me down yet. It's quickly turning into my favourite lighter ever.

Great lighter, works as advertised, they use some adhesive under the wind break, caused some sticking. After removing, wind break now very loose. Still a great lighter.
